£2.85 million settlement for amputee motorcyclist

Bikelawyer Partner, Andrew Campbell, and Solicitor, Cameron Tippings, acted for a young man who had a serious motorcycle accident in 2022.

He was riding along a main road when an elderly car driver pulled out from a junction into his path, leaving him no time to take evasive action, and a collision occurred.

He sustained multiple injuries to his left leg leading to a through-knee amputation. His hobbies of football, running and motorcycling have been curtailed.

Expert evidence was obtained from an orthopaedic surgeon, a clinical psychologist, a physiotherapist, a prosthetics expert, a care expert and an accommodation expert.

Settlement was reached at a round table meeting with the defendant’s legal team, without the need for a court hearing.
