£170,000 for pillion passenger accident
In February 2018 Mr X was riding pillion on the back of a scooter when the rider lost control on a bend and the bike collided with street furniture. Unbeknown to Mr X, the scooter had been stolen 5 days before the accident.
Mr X sustained multiple face and skull fractures in the accident and he required a craniotomy and multiple metal face and skull plates to be inserted.
The bike accident claim was initially submitted to the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) under the Uninsured Drivers’ Agreement but it transpired that the bike had not been reported stolen before the accident happened so the bike’s insurer was compelled to deal with the claim.
Bikelawyer’s Andrew Campbell acted for Mr X.
