£315,000 for hit and run rider

Mr W was riding his motorcycle in London in January 2020, when he was the victim of a road rage attack – with a car knocking him off his bike, before fleeing the scene of the accident.

Mr W sustained multiple fractures, a complex pain disorder, and soft tissue injuries – as well as suffering from severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which led to multiple suicide attempts.

As a result of his physical and psychiatric injuries, he was unable to return to the physical job which he had done for 40 years.

The case was very complex from a medical causation perspective. Nonetheless, Bikelawyer reached a settlement of £315,000 with the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) which compensates victims of untraced drivers.
