£828,000 after driver U-turned into rider’s path

Mr U was riding his Yamaha motorcycle when a Landrover Discovery emerged from a junction having performed a U-turn using a side road, without giving way. The vehicle hit Mr U’s leg and he was thrown across the road.

Mr U suffered very nasty fractures of his tibia and fibula, a fractured dislocations of his hip and shoulder with damage to shoulder muscles. He also suffered from a head injury which had an effect on his memory and ability to concentrate.

The Claim settled after a joint settlement meeting for £828,000 allowing Mr U to medically retire without financial concerns.
